Cannock Wedding Photography captured at The Barns Hotel

Yesterday saw us providing the Cannock wedding photography for the marriage of Andy and Jennifer, the brand new Mr and Mrs Murphy. The Cannock wedding venue that they had chosen for their special day was The Barns Hotel, this is set in Huntington, just on the edge of the Staffordshire town. The venue is set around an old traditional farmhouse from the eighteenth century that is filled with plenty of character, this is just part of the charm that makes wedding photography at the Barns so unique. This is a wedding venue that we love to keep returning to for us to provide Staffordshire wedding photography for couples on their big day.

We arrived at the Cannock wedding venue at around 11am and made our way to the hotels bridal suite as this was the room that Jenny was using to get herself ready for her wedding to Andy. We found Jenny with the members of her bridal party with their hair styled, and basic make up applied. We enjoyed a good fairly relaxed atmosphere while we concentrated on the bridal preparation photography of Jenny, her two bridesmaids, and her mom took turns to visit the bridal suites huge bathroom to get dressed into their wedding gowns. The bridesmaids were wearing stunning strapless Cadbury purple bridesmaid dresses. The beautician who was present added the finishing touches to the makeup of each member in turn as they arrived back into the room dressed. It was then the turn of Jenny to get into her amazing wedding dress, complete with lace shrug. Jenny arrived dressed in this beautifully elegant wedding dress looking absolutely stunning. We proceeded to photograph her as the beautician finished off her cosmetics.

We now left the party in the Cannock bridal suite, as we made our way across the venue to find Andy, our groom along with his brother, who was his best man for some traditional wedding photography on the picturesque front doorstep of this old farmhouse. Andy was now called in for his interview with the registrars so we set about photographing the couples sons who all looked very smart in their matching suits.

We now waited outside the bridal suite for the bridal party to emerge and make the short walk across to the quaint room, complete with oak beams that the ceremony was to take place in. We got plenty of photographs of the key moments of the wedding ceremony, thanks to the friendly registrars that were quite relaxed in their approach to photography.

The service was now over, and Andy and Jenny had been officially named as the new Mr and Mrs Murphy, so the congregation made their way outside for the traditional wedding photography to take place. This venue always allows the wedding photographer to use an upstairs room window for the group photography. This is always helpful as looking down on the group makes sure every single person in it can be seen in the photograph. The newlyweds were now treated to a heavy showering of confetti from their loved ones.

Unfortunately the forecast rain now started to fall quite heavily, so the guests made their way back inside to the bar for some refreshment while we handed the newlyweds our bridal umbrellas to photograph them outside the wedding venue. We now returned upstairs to the ceremony room for the group photography of the smaller family groups to take place in the warm and dry. This is a perfect venue for this, with its many little rooms all filled with different character make for some great backdrops. This is sadly something that many couples do not think about when they are choosing their wedding venues, does the wedding venue that you like have a back up should there be bad weather. The family group photography was now finished, so it was time for some loving relaxed portraits of the newlyweds as they celebrated the occasion.

The time had now come for the newlyweds and their guests to be seated for the wedding breakfast, and the nerve shredding speeches. This meant it was now time for us to leave them alone to enjoy the day, before we returned on the evening to photograph the first dance.

We would like to thank Andy & Jenny for choosing us to capture their Cannock wedding photography for them on their very special day. We wish them a very happy and healthy future together as man and wife. There will be a selection of photographs from this wedding added to our wedding portfolio in due course, once the proofs have been viewed by the newlyweds.
