The Moat House Stafford Wedding Of Paul And Alison

Saturday 16th July Staffordshire wedding photographer Glyn T Jones provided the official wedding photography for Paul and Alison. The wedding venue that had been chosen to hold their marriage at was The Moat House in the village of Acton Trussell on the edge of Stafford. This is a stunning 14th century manor house that is now a hotel, and also a very popular wedding venue.

We arrived at the Rodbaston home of Paul and Alison to photograph the bridal preparation of Alison getting ready for her big day, along with her eight bridesmaids.  The bridal party were in great spirits, seemingly very calm, and thoroughly enjoying the moment.

After a couple of hours with Alison and her bridal party we headed to The Moat House to find bridegroom Paul along with his bestman and ushers. Paul was very relaxed, and was happy to pose for our cameras, along with his groomsmen, who all looked very smart dressed in their blue morning suits complete with brown shoes.

The large wedding congregation had now arrived and had been called into the Staffordshire wedding venue to take their seats ready for the wedding ceremony. We waited outside to await the arrival of Alison. We knew that Alison was arriving in style aboard a vintage VW campervan. As the campervan pulled into the carpark Alison could be seen with her head and her arms out of the campervans sunroof waving to her waiting bridesmaids. Alison emerged from the campervan looking beautiful in her white strapless wedding dress complete with tiara.

The wedding ceremony was a fun filled affair, with many laughs provided by the fun loving couple. As the ceremony reached the exchanging of the wedding rings the congregation were treated to a well rehearsed fumble from the best man as he emptied his pockets looking for the rings. At this point one of Paul and Alisons sons, stood up with a gloved hand, and to the surprise of the guests a beautiful owl swooped just over their heads delivering the wedding rings to the wedding ceremony.

Paul and Alison were now officially Mr and Mrs Duckhouse and led the congregation up the red carpet to exit the venue for reception drinks and canapes.

After a few minutes we started the traditional wedding photography of the newlyweds posing with the wedding party, family and friends. This also was the time to photograph the happy couple with the owl, and the campervan.

After a few minutes spent alone with Paul and Alison to photograph their romantic wedding portraits for their wedding album, the congregation was called back inside the venue for the formal wedding speeches, and the wedding breakfast.

Another surprise that Alison had planned for Paul, and all of her guests was that she had hired singing waiters to entertain everyone. As the main course was cleared away, and as desserts were being served, one of the waiters came in making an announcement, then to the shock of the wedding guests burst into song, before long the two singing waiters had got everybody up dancing in the dining room. This experience was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, especially the finale when Alison joined the singing waiters while they all sang Nessun Dorma.

Once the wedding breakfast was complete the congregation enjoyed drinks out in the sunshine while they waited for the wedding reception to begin.

Around 7.30pm the evening wedding guests had started to arrive, and so at 8.30 Paul and Alison cut their four tier wedding cake, before taking to the dance floor to perform their first dance together as husband and wife. As they were on the dance floor a number of confetti cannons were let off, showing the couple in streamers.

The wedding reception now got very emotional as Alison sang Whitney Houstons I Will Always Love You to Paul, there was not many dry eyes in the room during this amazing performance by Alison. This got the party started, and the dance floor soon filled up with people enjoying themselves.

At 10pm everyone was called outside to be given a sparkler before they were treated to an amazing firework display set to music. This was a surprise for many of the guests, and seemed a perfect way to celebrate the love for each other that Paul and Alison so obviously have.

We would also like to wish them a very long, very happy, and very healthy future together as husband and wife.
