Tamworth Castle Wedding Photography Of Andy and Jo

Saturday 23rd saw Staffordshire and West Midland wedding photographer Glyn T Jones Photography providing the official wedding photography for Andy and Jo. They had planned a fairytale winter wonderland wedding set in the grade1 listed Norman building of Tamworth Castle. This Tamworth wedding venue is one that had us very excited, as the photographic opportunities in and around this location are endless.

We arrived at the couples Burntwood home for 8.30 am to photograph our bride Jo along with her three bridesmaids and two flower girls as they had their hair professionally styled, and their make-up professionally applied ready to slip into their dresses and gowns for the big day. With the bridal preparation photography complete we moved on to Tamworth castle to await the arrival of Andy, our bridegroom.

Standing outside this Staffordshire castle in the bright autumn sunshine, we heard the familiar sound of the theme tune from The A Team, we knew in advance that Andy and his groomsmen had hired the A team van to bring them to the wedding venue. Sure enough around the corner came the famous van complete with the theme music playing. The door was opened to reveal the all of the groomsmen. Andy had come complete with a huge cigar for style. We photographed the very excited party along with the van in various ways, before they made their way up into the castle.

We awaited the arrival of the bridal party outside the castle, we didn’t have to wait long though, as right on time a classic white wedding car made its way up the hill to the entrance. Jo emerged looking truly beautiful, a true fairytale bride.  We wasted no time in photographing Jo and her proud father with the car, along with the bridesmaids. This scene was a stunning one, with the castle towering in the background.

The bridal party now made their way up to the castle entrance, ready to make the grand entrance into this grand Tamworth wedding venue. We photographed the service as Andy and Jo became husband and wife in front of all of their family and friends. The formal wedding photography was taken at various locations around the castle including the courtyard, and the drawing room, this made for some very unique wedding photography. The guests started making their way to the nearby Tamworth Castle Hotel ready for the reception. This left us time alone with the newlyweds to explore the castle grounds taking loving portrait photographs of the newlyweds enjoying the day.

The new Mr and Mrs Williams now made their way back to the waiting wedding car, to be taken over to the Castle Hotel to greet their guests. As the newlyweds arrived at the hotel, they were showered with a snow machine on the doorstep, this was a part of the day that was enjoyed by everyone, especially the children that were present. Once inside the Tamworth hotels Wedgewood suite the winter wonderland theme had been perfectly set, even with fake snow lying on the floor. Here we photographed Andy and Jo some more in this fairytale scene, along with their amazing wedding cake that also featured snowflakes. It was now time for us to leave the congregation to enjoy their three course wedding meal.

We arrived back to the Tamworth hotel wedding venue at around 8pm to photograph as the newlyweds took to the dance floor to perform their first dance as man and wife. This first dance ceremony was slightly different to any that we have photographed previously. This was performed as Skye, the brides daughter bravely sang a song accompanied by two guests on acoustic guitars.
