West Midlands Easter Wedding Photography at Hogarths Hotel Solihull

Yesterday, Easter Sunday saw the start of the 2013 wedding season for Staffordshire wedding Photographer Glyn T Jones Photography. We travelled over to the Solihull area of Birmingham to photograph the West Midlands wedding of the lovely Neil and Sarah, they had chosen the stunning wedding venue that is Hogarths Hotel set in the Dorridge area of the town for their wedding ceremony. This wedding venue is in fact unique in that your wedding ceremony is held outdoors on a romantic island set in acres of woodland, this setting is just tailor made for all al fresco wedding ceremonies.

We arrived at the West Midlands Hotel at around 9.20am to again view the location, and to see how the unseasonal spring snow had affected this setting. There was still a light sprinkling of snow on the ground this only seemed to make this amazingly romantic venue even more magical setting for a wedding.

Our groom Neil had arrived and was busy with his groomsmen making sure the finishing touches for their wedding day were put into place before getting themselves suited and booted. Once all the preparations had been completed we spent some time with Neil, his two best men and the other groomsmen photographing them all looking a little nervous out the front of the Solihull hotel. The driveway of this venue is a long straight tree lined avenue, this made a perfect setting for the pre-wedding photography. It was now time for all the suited men to make their way over to the island setting to await the start of the wedding ceremony.

Our photography attentions now turned to our bride Sarah, she was in one of the hotels bedrooms getting ready for her wedding day along with her bridesmaids. Sarah did not want too much pre-wedding photography of herself so we visited her room once she was dressed in her beautiful wedding dress ready to go and meet the registrars.  We shot the formal wedding photography images of Sarah along with her bridal party in front of the hotel, before she made her way through to the stunning gardens at the back. Sarah then had the long walk down the garden aisle through the hotels landscaped gardens with her father. Sarah soon reached the little bridge across the water, crossing eagerly to greet Neil on the little island.

Sarah Joined Neil in the islands two storey summer house, while the guests took their seats just outside in the heated marquee that this wedding venue provides.  The wedding ceremony went beautifully, helped along by the couples children, who had been heavily involved in the planning of this wedding.

Neil and Sarah had now officially become Mr and Mrs Apted so the newlyweds along with their congregation left the island and made their way back to the hotel for drinks at the terrace bar. We photographed the whole congregation as well as individual groups that Neil and Sarah had previously requested for inclusion into their wedding photography. It was now time for the guests to step inside for drinks in the warm while we returned to the romantic little island for some more private portrait style images of them enjoying the setting, and each other company. One of the key features to this wedding island has to be the original stone kissing bridge. This was a place to romantic to ignore so we photographed the newlyweds around this feature, as well as the other various photographic settings that this wedding venue has to offer before returning back to the hotel.

It was now time for the wedding congregation to be treated to the wedding breakfast in the hotels William suite that overlooks the beautiful gardens and grounds. We left the newlyweds to enjoy the moment with their family and friends, before returning in the evening to photograph the cake cutting and first dance ceremonies.  With Neil and Sarah holding their wedding on Easter Sunday, it seemed fitting that they had to have a wedding cake that reflected this. They had chosen to have their wedding cakes made as a family of Easter bunnies completely dressed in wedding clothes.

Once the cake had been cut, and in fact tasted by a playful Neil the couple swept onto the dance floor to perform their first dance together as man and wife which was duly photographed for inclusion into their wedding album.

Glyn T Jones Photography would like to thank Neil and Sarah for choosing us to photograph their very special wedding day. We would also like to congratulate them on their marriage and wish them a very long, healthy and happy life together. More of the wedding photography from this West Midlands wedding will be available to view in our wedding gallery pages of this site over the next couple of weeks once seen by the happy couple.
